Florals

I’m delighted to share my collection of florals, created to celebrate nature, beauty, and love.

These paintings are inspired by my grandmother’s garden. She lived on a large property in Waterloo and grew the most exquisite roses, orchids, and lilies. To help support her family, she sold her flowers at the Wellington flower markets, transporting them into the city by horse and cart.

I remember Grandma’s garden with deep fondness. As a child with a vivid imagination, I found great peace and joy in wandering among the wildflowers. I hope this collection brings you that same sense of joy and connection. Thank you for supporting a living artist.

Process
My creative process begins in nature. I spend time photographing and sketching flowers, and often pick them to paint directly onto the canvas — layering as I go until the composition feels just right.

Each painting is built up through five to twelve layers of oil paint to achieve the desired colour, tone, and depth.

Depending on the size and complexity, a painting may take from a week for smaller works to up to three months for larger pieces.
