​​My floral collection celebrates nature, beauty, and love - shining a light on conservation and the importance of a healthy environment.
 

The paintings reflect the interconnected web of life—where plants, insects, and other wildlife exist in balance. On closer inspection you will find intricate details such as bees, butterflies, and other small life forms whimsically woven through each painting.
 

Inspired by my grandmother’s wildflower garden and the Wellington Botanic Garden ki Paekākā, I draw on memories of happily wandering freely among roses, orchids, and lilies—soothing spaces filled with joy, peace and imagination.

Working in professional oil paint, each work is built up with six to ten layers of paint, creating depth of tone, colour, and detail.  I also work in mixed media and watercolour.  Keep an eye out for new watercolour works later in the year.

Through my work, I invite you to pause, look closely, and delight in the beauty and abundance of nature.

I hope this collection brings you that same sense of joy, whimsy and connection that I feel when experiencing nature.

Process
I take the time to photograph and sketch flowers, often picking them and painting directly onto canvas and layering as I go until the composition feels just right.  Each painting is built up through layers to achieve the desired colour, tone, and depth.  Depending on the size and complexity, a painting may take from a week for smaller works, and up to three months for larger pieces.
