“Midnight Garden” was inspired by a stroll in my garden at night.  It was a warm  summers night stroll, where the roses were scenting the air and calling me out to enjoy them. Bare footed, and hand in hand, my husband and I took a moment to breathe, looked up at the stars and gave thanks. It's the little moments in life that can give us joy.
 
Here is the accompanying poem:
 
"A warm windless summers night, cicadas softly singing, a heady scented air.
Barefoot on a moonlight path, still warm on my feet from the day.
Beckons me to the garden.
I led him to them, hand in hand.
Reach out in wonder at the softness of their petals, the sharp sting of the thorn, his breath on my neck.
An intake of breath to enjoy the moment. 
We looked up at the stars and gave thanks.”
 
This painting is a lovely floral composition that brings beauty and a contemporary feel to a space.  It measures 60cm round (23.5 inches), and is  ready to hang.
