“Sweet Magnolias” celebrates the beauty of spring and the hope we feel when the magnolia buds open.  
It is complemented by a poem, specifically written for the painting, which weaved its way between my thoughts and the brush. 
 
“She waves at me from the window,
Beckoning me with blooms of pink.
Elated in the glory of spring to shout -
BEHOLD
I am here!
Delight in this life for I am the soil under your feet
warming in the afternoon sun.
My boughs will soon shade you with leaves,
petals will drop like rain 
quenching your thirst.”
