I'm thrilled to be able to offer giclee prints of my original painting.
 
Narrative:
The Kāruhiruhi (Pied Shag) are often seen in harbours and along sheltered coastlines. They build their nests high in pine trees above estuaries and cliffs, cleverly weaving together sticks, seaweed, and sometimes shells or even plastic.
 
Despite their resilience, they are classified as nationally vulnerable. With storms growing stronger and seas less predictable, calm days are a gift. It was on one such still day that I felt inspired to paint this scene.
 
Hidden within the nest are small estuary treasures: chiton, Banksii seaweed, mud crab, green-lipped mussel, glossy violet snails, and the New Zealand screw shell — quiet reminders of the rich ecosystems these birds depend on.
 
For me, this piece celebrates those rare, peaceful moments — and gently asks us to protect the fragile beauty that makes them possible.

These prints beautifully capture the essence of my original artwork which are printed by an off-site professional printer on Fine Art Paper 235gsm, printed with archival inks. 
 
Only 200 in the edition for each size.  These prints will be supplied rolled in a protective tube, with paper and plastic wrapping around the print for added protection.
