Narrative:
My painting explores the pressing environmental issues currently facing the Arctic.
I have presented this work in a lighthearted, naïve style to reflect the unfathomable lack of understanding, judgement, and care for our planet—issues that are often hidden from public view.
My narrative draws on the absurd, using satire, irony, and symbolism to tell a story.
The vibrant palette and illustrative style allow me to say one thing while implying another, creating a deeper connection between the artwork and the audience.
By infusing humour into my work, I can delight, critique, present uncomfortable truths, evoke empathy, expose vulnerability, and document this moment in time.
