"Surfs Up" Narrative

The Fiordland crested penguin is one of the rarest of New Zealand’s penguins and is critically threatened. I wanted to show this threat by using the visual metaphor of tsunami waves threatening the birds. The Washi umbrella is symbolic of how fragile and unprotected these birds are from the incoming destruction.

"Surfs Up" is available as a print on canvas. Size: 91 x 61cm.

It will come rolled for a more reasonably priced shipping charge. You can get the canvas stretched onto stretcher bars by a framer. Check with the framers in your area who have experience with this.

Materials

Archival inks are used that will last over 75+ years. The canvas is 400gsm weight with a smooth texture.

Photographs are an indication of what the artworks could look like in a room and are not to the exact ratio. Other items in the photograph are not included.
