Narrative
"Journey" explores the relationship between nature and the human world.  Visual metaphors, symbols and muted colour has been used to create a sense of mystery and to tie the painting to New Zealand but not directly to a time or place.

In this artwork you will find indistinguishable islands, the calm, dream-like water, and the sea fog that obscures direction. The stern of the canoe blends cultural symbols (Celtic and Maori) as a way of pointing to a way forward and to the journey ahead.
