These paintings are based on drawings I created from reference photographs I’ve taken of real kiwi chicks.
 
I’m a volunteer at Pūkaha Wildlife Sanctuary, where I have the privilege of helping the senior ranger care for the kiwi chicks.
 
They are a small reminder of the charm, curiosity, and resilience of Aotearoa’s wildlife, and of the important work being done to protect it through wildlife sanctuaries such as Pūkaha.
 
My work is intended as a celebration of the efforts to protect the kiwi, while also bringing small moments of joy that can be enjoyed every day. 
 
The paintings are designed to make you smile and to become treasured heirloom pieces over time.
